PROJECT MANAGER

The Project Manager is key team member who charts and maintains the project’s course of direction. This role is accountable for aligning scope, budget, schedule, people, consultants, milestones, and communication to ensure the project reaches its precise destination. The Project Manager creates clarity, anticipates risks, documents decisions, foresees turbulence, and articulates effectively when corrective action is needed by any party.

Working closely with the Project Architect, Job Captains, technical leadership, consultants, clients, and Principal Architect, the Project Manager owns the management outcome of the delivered project. The PM is not expected to personally produce or solve every technical item, but they must have enough architectural and technical understanding and experience to recognize incongruencies, ask accurate questions, coordinate resolutions with appropriate decision-makers, and confirm required reviews occur.

JOB CAPTAIN

The Job Captain is the team member who keeps project production moving forward. Working along side the Project Architect and Project Manager, this role owns the day-to-day development, coordination, organization, and completeness of the drawing sets. The Job Captain is expected to be proactive and self-reliant with a natural disposition to anticipate needs, identify conflicts, research solutions, and bring clear recommendations forward – not wait to be told what, how, or where to address routine project issues.

This is a hands-on production leadership role for someone who enjoys documenting buildings, coordinating a multidisciplinary team, and carrying projects from schematic design through permit and construction documents in a collaborative small-firm environment.
