Design Associate/ Job Captain | Kimmich Smith Architecture, LLC 

Kimmich | Smith Architecture, LLC (KSA) is a growing Tampa, Florida-based Architecture firm starting to expand to other locations in the nation. At KSA we help our clients discover the creative potential of their properties which serve the Multifamily, Condo, Hotel, Commercial, Office, and Mixed-Use development sectors.
KSA will be celebrating 9 years in business in 2025 and we are excited to expand our team with this position! We are seeking someone who will be able to take us to another level even as a smaller firm ~ We realize proper and timely service to our clients hinges on the smooth operation of all the unseen, yet vitally important, behind the scenes aspects of our firm. Your role will be to provide that level of service through Design, Drafting, 3D Modeling, Rendering and Coordination with engineers. You will be directly reporting to the Project Manager or the Principal of the firm and will have the opportunity to be involved in all aspects of a project with further growth opportunities within the firm.

Roles/ Responsibilities:

Include but are not limited to –

  • Support in the production of drawing documents from Schematic Design through Construction Documents under the direction of a Project Manager.
  • Ability to work out problems and issues and researching solutions
  • Ability to review, research and apply building codes and applicable technical requirements of the owner provided program and industry best practices.
  • Will likely be involved in client and consultant meetings, produce and log meeting minutes and implement changes to documents required.
  • Ability to review and coordinate with all building system and specialty engineers and consultants throughout the project.
  • Provide periodic updates to Design Architect or Project Manager ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Work within company standards and work to create greater efficiencies and strategies within the company.
  • Not required but desired: The ability to produce in-house renderings, graphics and presentations for proposals and exhibits.

Desired Skills/ Experience:

  • Min 3 years experience in project production
  • A degree in Architecture from an accredited university
  • Strong organizational and time management with the ability to work on multiple projects at the same time.
  • Strong team building skills
  • Strong Critical Thinking skills
  • Proficiency in Revit, Microsoft Office, and Photoshop & Lumion (Preferred, not required).

KSA will be celebrating 9 years in business in 2025 and we are excited to expand our team with this position! We are seeking someone who will be able to take us to another level even as a smaller firm ~ We realize proper and timely service to our clients hinges on the smooth operation of all the unseen, yet vitally important, behind the scenes aspects of our firm. Your role will be to provide that support and service across a spectrum of duties to make this happen. Not only will you be the first face our clients see when visiting our office and hear on the phone, we will also seek your help in making sure the office has supplies as needed, assisting in preparing for in-office meetings and helping in scheduling. You will also be working with the Owner of the company to write proposals for new work, research new opportunities, become a liaison between he and the remote accounting staff and track other metrics within the company. You may also be working with our Project Managers in creating project schedules, narrative outlines, tracking project time and writing letters. With your skills you may also help document and or create necessary office processes, procedures and systems.
